Change how you use energy in your home, business and school. Simply switching appliances off at the wall or sealing gaps around doors and windows is a great start. When you can, upgrade to energy-efficient electric appliances. Your small actions can make a difference.

Solar energy systems and batteries are reducing emissions. Choose solar for the environment and to save money. Get an interest-free loan or rebate to install your system. Specialist advice is available to help businesses.
Switching from gas
Electric appliances (powered by 100% renewable electricity in the ACT) are more efficient than natural gas appliances. They also offer lower running costs over time and could be better for your family’s health. You can prepare for a future free from gas. And we’ll help you get there.
Wood fuel
Replace your wood heater for a more efficient electric option. You’ll reduce air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. And you can get a financial incentive to do so. If you want to keep using your wood heater, use dry wood and don’t overfill with logs.
What the ACT Government is doing
Clean energy is the best option for reducing emissions. Renewable sources of energy like wind and solar are our focus. You can access programs and rebates to help. We’re also encouraging businesses to invest in renewables as part of our clean economy.
